I’ve read and used various techniques for custom page templates using the Thesis theme for WordPress. Nonetheless, what I was really after for many of my client’s immediate needs was a way to rotate out what type of widget function gets displayed on the sidebar of a page. Same page template, different right hand column features and functionality.

Finally, I found that there is a plugin (Of course there is!) that does this for you.

Widget Logic does this for you without having to develop multiple custom templates.

Basically it adds a features to all of your sidebar widgets to put in the conditional pages. You can do this with custom page templates and lots of PHP, but you don’t HAVE to with this handy tool.

This isn’t specific to the Thesis theme, use it for your other WP themes as well.
